When can I check in?
Check-in is possible from 2:00 p.m. If you plan to arrive after 10:00 p.m., please let us know in advance.
Until when do I need to check out?
We kindly ask you to vacate your room by 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure. For a late check-out, please contact us in advance.
Is the hotel entrance accessible at all times?
The main entrance is open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. With your room key card, you can enter the building at any time.
Is there a charging station for electric cars?
Yes, we offer one e-charging station with 10 kWh and charge a flat rate per charging process. Our reception team will be happy to provide further details.
Are parking spaces available at the hotel?
We offer numerous outdoor parking spaces free of charge. If you would like a covered parking space, please reserve it in advance (€ 5 per day).
How does arrival by public transport work?
You are welcome to travel by public transport via ÖBB or VVT. Lienz train station is only a few minutes’ drive from the Moarhof.
Is there a bus stop near the Moarhof?
Yes, the bus stop “Hotel Moarhof” is located directly behind the hotel. You can conveniently travel with VVT public transport.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the entire property.
How long does it take to walk to the town centre?
The centre of Lienz is a 15-minute walk from the hotel.
How much is the local tax?
The local tax is € 2.60 per person per day (not included in the room rate).
How far is the nearest grocery store from the Moarhof?
The SPAR supermarket on Grafendorferstraße is about 750 metres away, a 10-minute walk. Our reception team will gladly assist you with directions.
How far is the nearest ATM from the Moarhof?
An ATM is available at the district hospital (Bezirkskrankenhaus), approx. 260 metres away, a 3-minute walk or 1-minute drive.
Dining
At what times are meals served?
We offer two board options: bed and breakfast or half board. Our generous breakfast buffet is available from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Dinner for guests with half board is served in the restaurant from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Our restaurant and bar are open daily; current opening hours can be found on our website or at reception. If you book bed and breakfast, you are welcome to reserve a table in our à-la-carte area.

Is there space for celebrations or events?
Yes, we offer rooms for various types of events. Please contact us directly so we can discuss your needs.
Can dietary allergies or intolerances be accommodated?
Please inform us ideally at the time of booking about any dietary requirements so that we can accommodate them as best as possible.
Is breakfast available for external guests?
Yes, our delicious breakfast buffet is available for € 27.00 per person. We kindly ask for a table reservation.
Is there a hotel bar?
Yes, our restaurant and bar are open daily. Current opening hours can be found on our website or at reception.
What are the opening hours of the wellness area?
Our wellness area is open daily from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Our covered and heated swimming pool is open daily during summer from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
What does the wellness area include?
Our wellness area features a sanarium, a Finnish sauna, a herbal sauna, an infrared cabin, and an outdoor terrace with access to the garden and outdoor pool (summer only).
Children under 14 years are not permitted in the wellness area.
Bathrobes and sauna or pool towels are provided in your room.
Bath slippers are available at reception upon request.
Is there a sauna?
Yes, our “Alpinarium” (Finnish sauna, steam bath, pine-scented room, herbal sauna, infrared cabin) is open daily from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Is there a swimming pool?
Our covered outdoor pool is open from approximately mid-May to the end of September (weather dependent).
Our Rooms
Do the rooms have a shower or a bathtub?
Most of our rooms are equipped with a shower. Only a few rooms offer a bathtub.
Do the rooms have a balcony?
We offer different room categories at the Moarhof. The Double Rooms Schleinitz and the Single Rooms Zettersfeld do not have a balcony. The Double Rooms Moarhof and Dolomit, the Family Rooms, the Holiday Apartments and the Single Room Dolomit all feature a south-facing balcony.
Is there a children’s discount?
Yes, we offer a children’s discount for stays with at least two full-paying adults in a double room.
Children aged 0–2 years stay free of charge.
Children aged 3–5.9 years receive a 70% discount, children aged 6–10.9 years receive 50%, and children aged 11–14.9 years receive 20%.
Which rooms are suitable for families with children?
Our reception team will be happy to advise you personally and help you select the room best suited to your needs.
Is there a minibar in the room?
All rooms feature a small refrigerator that you are welcome to use and fill with your favourite drinks.
Does the Moarhof offer accessible rooms?
Unfortunately, we do not have barrier-free or fully accessible rooms.
Is there a safe in the room?
Yes, every room is equipped with a safe for your use during your stay.
Your Booking
What are the cancellation conditions?
No one plans for it, but sometimes plans change — a cancellation can always occur. We therefore recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance. Further information can be found here.
Without travel insurance, your stay can be cancelled free of charge up to 30 days before arrival.
For cancellations between 29 and 7 days prior to arrival, we charge 70% of the room price.
For later cancellations or non-arrival, 90% of the room price will be charged.
What is the best way to book a stay?

What are the advantages of booking directly?
Best cancellation conditions: Since unexpected changes can happen, direct bookings receive the fairest cancellation terms.
Best price guarantee: We guarantee you the best available rate when booking directly or requesting via our website.
Room upgrade: If available, we offer a complimentary upgrade upon arrival.
Our thank-you: For stays of 3 nights or more, we offer a complimentary drink at our bar or entrance to the Tristacher Lake beach.
More room categories: Direct bookings give you access to all available room categories, more than on external platforms.

Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are warmly welcome. We charge € 15 per day (excluding food) as a cleaning fee. Please bring your own pet food. We kindly ask for your understanding that pets are not permitted in the dining areas (breakfast & dinner) or in the wellness area.

Is there a ski room?
Yes, our ski room is available free of charge and offers space for skis, ski boots, and poles.
Where can I find information about activities taking place at the hotel?
You will find all updates in our daily morning newsletter or directly at our reception.
Is there a bike room?
During summer, you are welcome to store bicycles in our ski room.
Is there a garden?
Yes, the Moarhof is known for its beautiful garden in a quiet location. During summer, you will always find a peaceful, shaded spot and sun loungers to relax.
Can bikes be rented?
Yes, our city bikes and e-bikes can be rented for a fee.
Can massages be booked?
Yes, massages can be booked at our reception.
Is there a ski shuttle?
Yes, our hotel ski shuttle takes you to the Zettersfeld ski area between 8:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. and brings you back between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Can ski passes be purchased at the hotel?
Yes, we can issue ski passes directly at the hotel — no waiting and no hassle.
Is the ski area suitable for families?
Yes, the Zettersfeld ski area is very family-friendly. Children’s ski lessons also take place there.
Is there a ski school at Zettersfeld?
Yes, the Lienz Ski School operates at Zettersfeld.
Are there ski huts at Zettersfeld?
Yes, the Winkler family also operates the mountain hut Pepo’s am Berg directly in the ski area.
Are there discounts on ski passes at the hotel?
Children up to 18 years receive a 50% discount on ski passes. If you are booking with children, please contact us directly, as the discount cannot be calculated online.
Is there a ski rental nearby?
Yes, at the Zettersfeld valley station you will find Joachim’s Ski Shop, and at the mountain station Ski Rental Moser.
Where is the nearest golf course?
The 36-hole Dolomitengolf course is about 7 km or 15 minutes by car from the hotel. As a partner hotel, we can offer a 30% discount on regular green fees. The entire Winkler family are passionate golfers and are happy to assist with tee times.
Is there a toboggan run nearby?
Yes, there is a natural toboggan run from the Dolomitenhütte, or from slightly lower down at the Kreithof, leading to the sports field in Tristach. Please check opening times. Our reception team will gladly assist with current conditions.
Is there a toboggan taxi?
Yes, we will gladly help you arrange a toboggan taxi for your outing.
Can sledges, headlamps or snowshoes be rented at the hotel?
Yes, we offer complimentary rental of sledges and headlamps, as well as snowshoes (available at the Dolomitenhof). For safety, we recommend wearing sturdy winter boots and a ski helmet when tobogganing.
Where can you go ice skating near the Moarhof?
There is a public ice rink in Lienz, and when temperatures are low enough, you can also skate on Lake Tristach near the Moarhof. Ice skates can be rented at the Lienz ice rink; at Lake Tristach you must bring your own skates.
Where are snowshoe or winter hikes offered?
We offer one complimentary snowshoe hike per guest during winter, led by our hosts Thomas or Helga Winkler — both certified mountain and hiking guides.
